No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup whatever he could about poker. He would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the negative feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
