No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five where he loved gambling on various card games at a young age. He found himself getting really competitive in the above-mentioned card games as he was competing against his dad. After graduating from high school, Howard decided to put college on hold for a bit and moved away to New York City to play some serious chess. While competing in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were rough as he would play many hours and do not win most times. He earned some additional money by being an runner for the poker players. He believed he could boost his game by analyzing his life outside of poker. He made an effort to get more rest and focus attention even more on the game.

The definite improvement in his skills began when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest players would frequently challenge one another. He had access into several of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would tweak his strategic thinking skills. He applied these strategic ideas to the game of No-Limit texas hold’em.

Howard Lederer also helped his sibling Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was a superb student of poker as she would consistently be asking questions about how to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie to head out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP competition. Annie is one of the best female players the poker world ever. Howard relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 and played cash games for the following 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
