Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the wild west in an awesome game for beginner level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the croupier, unlike the majority of other poker games that players compete with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, beginning players do not need to be concerned about other, more knowledgeable gamblers taking their cash.
One more Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game play, beginners should be able to take their time and scheme while not having to make quick decisions.
It’s also much simpler to play for a very long time with just a tiny bit of money after all, to lose, each of your hands must be under each of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the dealer is dealt seven cards face down.
One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
