Net High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

January 25th, 2024 at 14:25

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best players around the world. While participating in online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total dollar value. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best players anywhere in the world might be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in big stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money games?
