Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the west in a great game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler versus the house, unlike almost all other poker games that players compete with other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, starting players do not have to worry about any other, more advanced individuals winning their moolla.
A further Pai Gow advantage is the relatively leisurely game pace, newcomers can take their time and scheme while not having to make hasty decisions.
It is also much simpler to wager on for a very long time with basically a small amount of cash after all, to not win, both of your hands must be under each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards face up and the croupier gets seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the houses.
